The biggest safety question on a distillery tour is who drives home. On every tour we run, the answer is nobody in your group.
Tours are private and chauffeured, door to door, in a vehicle sized for your party. You can taste at every stop, nobody has to sit the day out as the designated driver, and nobody gets behind a wheel afterwards. All guests must be 21 or older, and the venues check ID at the door, so bring it with you.
Safety is the cornerstone of our operation. We are devoted to creating a secure experience, placing the well-being of our clients, employees and the community at the forefront of our mission.
Whiskey Trail Tours is operated by Signature Transportation Services. Exceptional service begins long before a passenger enters one of our vehicles. From chauffeur selection and training to vehicle maintenance, real-time monitoring, regulatory compliance and operational oversight, safety is built into every part of the journey.

The person behind the wheel is one of the most important components of a safe transportation experience. Signature chauffeurs undergo thorough screening and background checks and are professionally trained before representing our company and our clients. Chauffeurs hold the licensing required for the vehicles they operate, and many hold additional commercial licensing and credentials.
Our standards go beyond driving ability. Ongoing training covers:
Chauffeurs are also empowered to protect everyone on board. Our transportation policies allow a chauffeur, or the company, to end service when passenger behavior becomes threatening, unruly or unsafe.
Safety does not stop with training. Signature uses Samsara technology and in-vehicle camera systems throughout the fleet, which gives our team real-time monitoring, GPS information and safety analytics. That lets us identify driving behaviors, reinforce safe practice, coach chauffeurs and keep improving.
Signature achieved a Samsara Safety Score of 97 out of 100 last year.
Fatigue management is an essential part of professional transportation. Electronic Logging Devices and established operating procedures let us monitor applicable chauffeur hours and build required rest periods into trip planning.
For charter work, our published policies set driving and on-duty limits and require relief chauffeurs when an itinerary would exceed permitted operating limits. Safety requirements are considered before the vehicle leaves the garage, which matters on long-distance days: Jack Daniel’s is 90 miles out in Lynchburg, George Dickel is in Tullahoma, and the wineries run to Arrington, Hampshire and Lewisburg.
A luxury vehicle should be more than beautiful, it should be meticulously maintained. Signature operates a modern fleet of luxury sedans and SUVs, Sprinters, mini coaches, motorcoaches, specialty vehicles and accessible transportation, with Samsara dash-camera technology and real-time GPS tracking.
Vehicles undergo scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance. Depending on vehicle type, safety equipment includes passenger safety belts, airbags, anti-lock braking systems, traction and stability systems and other manufacturer safety technologies.
Tour groups run from 2 to 56 passengers and everyone travels together in one vehicle, so nobody follows in a second car and nobody has to find parking in Lynchburg or on Broadway.
Signature’s accessible vehicles include ADA-compliant securement systems, non-slip flooring, grab rails, wheelchair lifts and configurable seating designed for the safe transportation of passengers with mobility needs. Tell us what your group needs when you book.
Our clients include executives, entertainers, professional athletes, corporate leaders, families and travelers who value discretion. Chauffeurs are expected to maintain strict confidentiality and professional boundaries, and our agreements require identifying information about guests to remain confidential.
Your chauffeur is there to serve you, not to become part of your story.
Professional transportation requires judgment, not simply following an itinerary. Weather, roadway conditions, traffic, vehicle conditions and passenger behavior can all change during a trip, and our operations team and chauffeurs are able to make decisions based on safety rather than schedule alone.
Our agreements expressly reserve the ability to cancel transportation when severe weather, roadway conditions, flooding, ice, snow or other hazardous conditions make travel unsafe. No itinerary is more important than getting passengers there safely.
Technology can monitor a vehicle. Policies can set standards. Training can prepare a chauffeur. The strongest safety program comes from a culture where everyone understands that safety is their responsibility.
From chauffeurs and dispatchers through operations, reservations, fleet maintenance and leadership, Signature Transportation Services works collectively to identify risks, maintain standards and keep improving the passenger experience. True luxury is not having to think about the details. It is knowing they have already been handled.
Tour reservations need 48 hours’ notice to cancel, and we take all major credit cards by phone or through the site. If your group needs something specific, tell us when you book.
Your journey. Our responsibility. Every passenger, every vehicle, every trip, safety first.
