Leiper’s Fork Distillery Tours

Your tasting at Leiper’s Fork Distillery takes place inside a log cabin nearly two centuries old. The whiskey poured for you there comes from grain grown within about ten miles of the property, and the stillhouse next door stands on traditional timber joinery fastened with wooden pegs. The distillery sits on 27 acres of farmland just outside the village of Leiper’s Fork, about 30 miles southwest of downtown Nashville.

We arrange private, chauffeured outings to Leiper’s Fork Distillery for parties of two to 56, starting from Nashville and including the distillery’s guided tour and tasting. With our Leiper’s Fork Distillery tours, we also drive everyone home once the day wraps up.

Grain to Glass in a Timber-Frame Stillhouse

We bring you right up to the distillery and wait nearby while the tour covers two parts:

  • A guide walks you through each step, from milling the grain to fermenting it in open-top vessels and running it through copper pot stills. Everything happens on a small enough scale that you can see and smell the process up close. You also hear the whiskey history of this land.
  • The visit ends in the cabin, where a guide pours samples for you. Tennessee law generally restricts distilleries to serving the spirits they produce or manufacture on-site. One standout offering is Old Natchez Trace White Whiskey: an unaged spirit crafted to replicate the flavor profile of frontier whiskey.

If you arrive between tours, you can order a self-guided flight at the cocktail bar, and the gift shop sells bottles to take home. For more whiskey, we can add a stop at another distillery or brewery nearby.

Hosting Visitors? We Drive, You Taste

If you are hosting family or friends who are visiting Nashville, you may worry about spending your one free day together in a vehicle for a short tasting. This trip puts far more of the day in Leiper’s Fork than on the road.

We can also suggest outing ideas, whether you want the distillery alone or a longer loop with lunch nearby and a few scenic stops. When the date arrives, your chauffeur will pick everyone up at your hotel or front door, drive the entire route, and wait with the vehicle while you tour and taste. Everyone in your party can enjoy the pours, because no one has to get behind the wheel afterward.

The drive from downtown Nashville takes about 45 minutes to an hour each way, and we can follow the Natchez Trace Parkway for much of it. The Parkway has no commercial trucks and no billboards, so the views do the entertaining. The distillery and the village sit only minutes apart, so one afternoon covers both.

If older relatives are coming, we drop them as near the door as the property allows, and both the tour and the visitor center are ADA accessible. Each tour holds up to 24 guests, and larger parties can request a private tour, which may take up to three business days for a reply. We bring a big group in one vehicle or split it across several. The distillery closes on Mondays, so aim for Wednesday through Sunday.

The Village Around the Distillery

If you come to visit Leiper’s Fork for the whiskey, we are happy to leave extra time for the village. By one local account, it takes its name from Hugh Leiper, a surveyor who worked around here in the late 1700s.

These three stops fit easily into the same afternoon:

  • For lunch, we can stop in the village at Fox & Locke. The general store dates to 1947, moved into its current building in 1955, later spent decades under the Puckett name, and returned to the Fox & Locke name in 2022. It also brings live music and an open mic on Thursdays, running from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. We recommend getting tickets in advance, as they can sell out.
  • Afterward, we can take you to browse galleries such as David Arms, Copper Fox, and Leiper’s Creek.
  • Heading back toward Nashville, we can stop at the Loveless Cafe, the old roadside motel near the parkway’s northern end that has been serving biscuits and country ham since 1951.

Our Vehicles for Leiper’s Fork

We pair every party size with the right model in our fleet, and the distillery grounds have room for larger vehicles to park:

  • Bringing your parents or another couple? Our six-passenger SUV keeps a small party together without booking more vehicles than the group needs.
  • When a dozen friends want the tour and a long lunch nearby, our Executive Sprinter carries all of them in its 14 seats, so nobody splits into separate cars.
  • For company outings and family gatherings, our 56-passenger Motorcoach keeps the group on one schedule rather than coordinating several separate pickups.

The Cabin Is Waiting: Our Leiper’s Fork Distillery Tour

Tell us your date, pickup location, headcount, and whether you want to visit the distillery only or add time in Leiper’s Fork. We can then plan the vehicle and schedule for our Leiper’s Fork distillery tour around your group and the distillery’s available tour times.

Guests who have already toured with us post their impressions on Google reviews, which make good reading while you settle on a date. You can reach the Whiskey Trail Tours team at (615) 942-1033 or info@whiskeytrailtours.com, or leave us a note online. If you plan to taste, bring a valid, unexpired state-issued photo ID. The distillery allows tour guests ages 12 and older, but serves alcohol only to eligible guests with valid ID.
